Club Activities

The Club is a flat green and Short Mat bowling club. It is one of only two outdoor artificial surface available within Oxford and Berkshire. The club has a mixed membership (men & women), the outdoor main season operates from late April until mid-September each year. A winter triples league operates from October to December on Sunday mornings. The indoor short mat league starts in October until March. Junior members are welcome and the club has basic facilities for the disabled.

The Club organises approximately 70 matches throughout the outdoor season. This consists of mixed Ashley Baker triples matches, Ladies Ridgeway League matches, Men's Kennet LX matches for over sixties, Mixed Friendly matches and a number of Ladies and Men's friendly matches. The Men and Ladies both play matches in the Royal County of Berkshire leagues.

The Club also run a comprehensive set of Club Competitions for its members throughout the season. The Club also encourages its members to enter County Competitions.

Short Mat bowls in played during the winter and the club have a team in the Vale of White Horse League. A short mat club competition is also run through the short mat bowling season.

During the season the Club meets regularly on Friday evenings from 6.00pm to 9.00pm, basic coaching is available on request. The bowling green is available 365 days a year and as climate change provides us with milder winters the membership is very good value for money.

Throughout the year the social committee organise BBQ's and Quiz Nights at regular intervals for both members and non members, these are usually advertised in the village shop.
